Somatic Psychotherapist

Hi, we’re Giselle and Andreanna. Giselle is a somatic psychotherapist and Andreanna is a somatic movement educator. Together we have over 50 years of combined experience.

We have both experienced our own traumas and health challenges. We have been where you are. In our courses, we don’t just teach you the information, we share our experiences and what has worked for us.

Trauma causes disconnection.

How do we find our way back to ourselves and feel safe connecting with ourselves again.

The answer is through your body and the nervous system in a way that feels safe.

two 120 min live online classes

A weekend course with somatic healing practices, Qi Gong, reflection exercises and Internal Family System explorations.

A time to slow down, restore and reconnect.

To feel safe in the world we need to feel safe in our bodies.

In this weekend course we will begin by cultivating a feeling sense of safety as the foundation for healing. We will explore how connection gets lost and how we can restore our sense of self again. Through your thoughts, feelings, body and mind we will support reconnecting to yourself. And we will use your powerful body-mind connection to heal and restore your nervous system through doing somatic exercises and practices together.

We will be guided by all the current neurobiology and neuroscience research and mind-body somatic approaches for healing stress and trauma.

What is our intention for this program?

We want to give people a safe space and time for healing, honoring each person's process, and recognizing each person as important, worthy and powerful.

We want to share valuable information about trauma and stress, so each can begin their own trauma self inquiry, becoming more and more who they really are.

We want to teach people how trauma impacts the body, brain and nervous system and to share  simple methods and practices for calming the nervous system and getting back to center.

Who did we have in mind when we created this program?

People experiencing the effects of trauma, chronic pain issues, fatigue issues, people who want to let go of stress, want to learn about the body and mind connection, want practical exercises for the nervous system, want to heal trauma and reconnect to themselves, and want to improve their nervous system health and well being.

What are the benefits?

Improve your self awareness to better meet the demands and changes of life, reconnect with your internal messaging systems to enable you to create safety and address your needs, regulate your nervous system and emotions to interact and relate to others in healthier ways, rewire your body, feelings and thoughts to an integrated grounded sense of self in the world and increase your capacity for joy and ease.

Trauma disconnects us from ourselves.

Somatic healing restores that connection.

The Facilitators

Andreanna and Giselle

Our life journey has always returned us to healing.

You could say that it’s all we’ve ever done and will ever do.

We may have many titles, qualifications and life experiences but at present we are answering the call to support people on their healing journey.

Giselle Lamberth

When I was younger I would have looked back on my life as a series of traumatic events that continually created hardships for me. Now I see it very differently.

With the current change of perspective, trauma has now become accepted and almost a natural part of living and even considered important for personal growth. Now I see my personal healing journey as not only for integrating myself but for helping others with this difficult path. What was once kept to the counseling room, I am now able to offer more people online.

My life’s journey has been all about becoming whole again. After experiencing many traumatic events in my life I came to learn the importance of healing in its many forms. My natural calling to help others drove me to become skilled holistically. I became a therapist, naturopath and a spiritual guide. Even with all these modalities that I could offer my clients I found that these did not address the underlying issue we face as human beings. We can heal the mind, the body, the spirit but fundamentally if we don't feel safe within our own skins it’s all bandaid. I believe this is the missing link that is critical to healing and integration. We have a right to feel safe. It is what we need and deserve.

Joy and an openness to explore our own being is the goal of my work in helping others on their healing journey.

I had a deep intuitive knowing from a young age that I needed to dance. I loved movement in all its forms and experienced surprising transformations through moving my body. I decided to study dance full-time at university and it was there I began my training in gentle somatic methods. I was amazed to experience profound levels of healing through the work. It sparked a curiosity in me about how movement could have such a big impact.

At the same time I was engaging in service in my community, volunteering with battered women, working with young children, helping neglected and abused dogs. I saw how many people were disconnected from their bodies, understandably so under the circumstances.

It was so clear to me through all of these experiences that the body holds a wisdom beyond what most people realize. It seemed to me the body held the answers to most deep change and healing.

It became a passion and I embarked upon over twenty years of research and practice into somatic and other methods of healing and transforming body and mind. Things like yoga, meditation, Qi Gong, sacred and contemporary dance forms, the hows and whys the body is the key. I found life, vitality, joy. I wanted to shout what I had learned from the rooftops. We all have a body. Anyone can do this. I developed a deep desire to share those methods that had worked for me and make these more accessible to others.

When Giselle and I reconnected, it seemed our lives had been following parallel paths that always brought us back to healing. I felt called to support others on their healing journeys. The Embodiment Institute was born out of our friendship and this collaboration, this deep wish to share.
